Solnedgang Soloppgang (Leaning on you as you lean on me)
Permanent public commission for Tromsø Kommune
The project consist of six anti-terror bollards transformed into a sculptural light installations. The light designed is programmed to reflect the cycles of sunrise and sunset in Tromsø. On specific dates, the light patterns blink in response to current migration statistics in Tromsø, creating a light choreography that changes not only throughout the year, but across several years. By exploring movement through light, the work questions societies’ increased demand for borders and security in public space, while highlighting the cities’ often invisible movements flows.
